UNK- Mathematical Problem Solving with Technology = June 4 - 8, 2018

-Students will learn to combine technology with math to solve real-world problems.  Discover how mathematicians use computer software to model conic sections and predator-prey systems to solve problems.

Cybercamp at UNK = June 6 - 9, 2018

-Cybercamp will introduce you to computer architecture and embedded systems hardware, networking concepts, computer programming and engineering.  Explore the new field of cybersecurity.

UNK-Pre-Law Camp = June 8, 2018

-This one day camp introduces you to the study and practice of law.  You will hear guest speakers from law schools and the legal profession share their experiences and advice. You will also get to hear about the advantages of being a UNK pre-law student.

Southeast Community College Automotive Camp = June 8 - 9, 2018

-Learn more about the Automotive Technician career field and explore through hands on activities. See the latest technology and meet instructors.

-Cost $29 includes tools, meals, and housing

-Student must be at least 16 years old

Nebraska Lions Club Youth Leadership Camp = June 9 - 11, 2018

-The camp is held at Timberlake Ranch for middle school students who have leadership potential, are motivated to learn and excel, and who desire to increase their leadership skills for a successful future in middle school, high school, and in their communities. Many activities designed to build teamwork, trust, confidence, problem solving, and communication while providing adventure and fun.

Holland Academy of Excellence = June 10 - 13, 2018

-This unique program was established as an initiative to actively engage high school students who excel in math and science, and who have an interest in engineering and technology.  This three-day developmental experience allows students to apply engineering & technology concepts by attending faculty lead workshops in our state-of-the-art labs. Topics can range from bridge construction, water resources and soil contamination, and visual animation.  High school students are selected upon academic achievement, as well as, extracurricular involvement in the community, and leadership experience.

College of St. Mary Latina Summer Academy = June 10 - 15, 2018

-Unique opportunity for Latina girls that will be in 10th or 11th grade in the fall.  Learn how to prepare for college entrance, take college like courses, participate in cultural activities, and stay in a college dorm.  The academies feature activities in the STEAM fields (science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math)

UNL Big Red Summer Academic Camps = June 10 - 15, 2018

-Big Red Summer Academic Camps are residential, career exploration camps held at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. By participating in a camp youth get the opportunity to explore the UNL campus, meet people from across the country, spend time investigating an interest or potential career, and have a lot of fun! Camps include Discover Education, Filmmaking, Engineering, Outdoor Nebraska, Veterinary Science, Weather & Climate Science, and Youth Legislature.

-For students entering 10th-12th grade

-housing and food provided

-Cost $500 if registered by April 15, after that cost $550

Young Americans Summer Camp @ Midland University Fremont = June 10 -15, 2018

The Young Americans Summer Camp Tour will be traveling across the U.S. during the months of May, June, July, and August. A cast of 30+ Young Americans, ages 18-24, will be the instructors for every camp. Throughout the week, campers spend time learning an hour show geared for their respective age group as well as fun and interactive classes in singing, dancing, acting, and performance. Additionally, the camp offers a unique experience to gain self-confidence, make new friends, and learn an incredible 1-hour variety show!

UNK- Soil & Plants in Agriculture = June 11 - 15, 2018

-Explore how plants interact with their environment, learn the basics of soil science, and use experiments to measure plant responses to challenges. Work like a scientist to analyze plants and compare soils.

UNK- Digital Expressions Media Camp = June 11 - 16, 2018

-Express your creativity while developing your technical and analytical skills through the use of high-end video and audio equipment. Under the instruction of highly experienced professors, learn how to tell a story using digital field reporting equipment.

-Cost $390 includes food and housing- scholarship application available

 

 

UNK-Introduction to Crime Scene Investigation Day Camp = June 12, 2018

-Students will learn the basic principles of criminal investigation, and be introduced to forensic evidence collection and analysis techniques.  Examples include fingerprints, impression evidence, microscopic evidence, and alternative light sources.

-Cost $45

NECC Ag-Citing Careers = June 12 & 13, 2018

-Spark your imagination and get your hands dirty as you learn about agriculture and related career opportunities.  Hands on activities at the college farm, greenhouse, and laboratory.

UNMC Nursing Summer Camp = June 13, 2018

-The profession of nursing is an exciting career choice and by the year 2020, 340,000 new nurses will be needed. Come to the UNMC Nursing Summer Camp “Generation Link to Learn about Nursing” to learn more about the nursing profession.  There will be numerous hands on activities and students will get to explore high tech simulation and explore nursing specialties.

UNK- Crime Scene Investigation in Theory & Practice Day Camp = June 13, 2018

-Students will learn the basic crime scene investigation techniques of fingerprint, impression, blood spatter, microscopic, and light analysis, as well as the scientific principles behind them.

UNK Astrocamp = June 16, 2018

-Through hands on activities, planetarium shows, and technology training, you will explore various aspects of astronomy: assembling your own telescope, and spending days and evenings observing the Sun, Moon, and Jupiter.  Develop your own planetarium show, create your own Hubble image, and go to a star gazing party.

UNK Health Science Day Camp = June 15, 2018

-Learn more about health sciences and careers in healthcare.  Spend time in a lab, dissect a cow’s heart, tour the Health Sciences Education Complex, and participate in simulations.

UNL- Career Explorations- Architecture, Interior Design & Landscape Architecture = June 17 - 22, 2018

-Students investigate issues surrounding design and learn more about the design professions of architecture, landscape architecture and interior design. The workshop provides learning opportunities in the form of discussions, design studio exploration, field trips, and video presentations.

-Explore interactions of microbes with plants, use different strategies and technologies to “see” microbes, investigate plant and soil association and more.

Going Green! Algae for Biofuels @ Doane College = June 17 - 20, 2018

-Learn about basic biofuels and algae biology.  Conduct experiments and field collections, make your own bioreactors and more.

Girls can explore the non-traditional careers of diversified manufacturing and drafting.  Industry tours and leadership activities.

Launch Summer Leadership Workshop = June 19 - 23, 2018 or July 17 - 21, 2018

Camp held at Wayne State College

-The Summer Leadership Workshop is a five-day, four-night leadership immersion experience for students entering grades 6-12. All day, every day, you’ll discover new ways to become a leader and make a positive impact in your school and community. More importantly, you’ll discover a better you.

-Junior High/Middle School Leadership Workshop for students entering 6th-8th grade

-Senior High Leadership Workshop for students entering 9th-12th grade

-Cost $350, scholarship applications available

NECC Raspberry Pi Karaoke Camp = June 21 & 22, 2018

-Raspberry Pi is a small, single board computer that you will use to build a karaoke machine using HDMI, audio outputs, and a web-based application.  You will also learn to control the machine from a mobile device.

Hastings College Scholars Academy = June 24 - 29, 2018

-A premier one-week summer program dor gifted and talented students going into 7th, 8th, or 9th grade.  Student is in a gifted student program or scored at the 95% percentile in one academic area on achievement test.  Students will participate in enriching opportunities in history, robotics, and science.

-Register by May 14th or until all classes are full

-Cost $550

 

 

University of South Dakota Summer Accounting Institute = July 8 - 12, 2018

-Learn about exciting careers in the accounting profession, meet national and regional employers, spend time with the accounting faculty, meet other students with similar interests, and receive one college credit.

-For upcoming 10, 11, and 12th graders

-Cost $75 or free if you are in the top 10% of your class

Central Honors Institute Academic Camp at Central Community College Columbus = July 8 - 12, 2018

-CHI is a one week residential camp for upcoming 7th & 8th graders who have demonstrated high ability in language arts, science, or math. There are four tracks and each student is placed in a track based on aptitude and interest.  CHI Stream Track- biology based, FLY CHI Track- hands on activities, CSI Track- math, CHI Creativity Track.

-Apply by May 1- if selected students will be notified.

-Cost $395

 

 

All Girls All Math UNL = July 8 -14, 2018

-Residential summer mathematics camp for high school girls to provide an invigorating and supportive environment for girls to develop their mathematical abilities and interests.  Some sessions include- mathematics of cryptology, aerodynamics, the Game of SET, and graph theory.

-For students entering 10th-12th grades

-Student must have completed geometry

-Limited enrollment

-Application due by April 23

NREA Youth Energy Leadership Camp = July 9 - 13, 2018

-Attend a free camp to learn about the electric industry through interesting workshops, fascinating demonstrations and presentations by regional experts. There’s also canoeing, sports, a banquet, and a dance. Tour Gerald Gentlemen Power Station and Kingsley Hydro-electric Power Plant.  

-No cost

UNL-Adventures on the Niobrara River- Discover Landscape Architecture = July 22 - 25, 2018

-This camp provides 11th & 12th graders with a unique experience to explore and discover the design profession of Landscape Architecture in the outdoor classroom we call the Niobrara River. Students will get to see waterfalls, state parks, and camp in the great outdoors.

-For upcoming 11th & 12th graders

-Cost $250 includes meals, equipment and travel costs from UNL to Niobrara and back.
